This is a prediction that by the end of 2008 Google announces taking a significant stake in Sprint.

Any of the following would constitute success for this prediction:
* Google invests $2,500,000,000+ in Sprint
* Google becomes the majority stockholder in Sprint
* Sprint changes their name to something with "Google" in it (eg Google Wireless, Google Clearwire)

Note that only the announcement of a deal is required, not closing. Official announcements from Google or Sprint will be considered, as will officially confirmed reports in mass-media outlets.

@Bradley, might need a disclaimer that the current Google investment into the new Clearwire is excluded. Also, my gut feeling about this, should this become a playable prediction, suggest a starting % to be on the lower side (30%?)

Mmmm, yes. My intent wasn't to include the already-existing investment in the new Clearwire (which will be 51% owned by Sprint, per wikipedia).

The inclusion of the suggestion of the company name "Google Clearwire" came from the reference article. I'm not sure whether that makes sense, given that what's being discussed is a purchase of Sprint, rather than of an increased piece of the new Clearwire. I'll think about options for editing, but I'm also open to all kinds of suggestions for better wording (whether in comments or directly from TIS editors).
