The years 2007 and 2008 saw the demise of several known wireless MVNOs - Mobile ESPN, Amp'd, Disney, XE Mobile, Movida and Sonopia, With the current state of economy and the expansion of family plans with umlimited bundles, it is anticipated that the MVNO-space will continue to be challenging.
The prediction is for kajeet, the remaining wireless MVNO startup catering to tween market, to call it quits. Judgement shall be made favorably only if a formal announcement is made prior to the end of 1Q2009. Viable announcement includes:
1) Formal announcement of folding the operation
2) Chapter 11 filling
Update: kajeet.com traffic (http://www.quantcast.com/profile/traffic-compare.jsp?domain0=wd%3Acom.ka...) continues to stall at around 2.5K visits a day. Not a good sign if the strategy changes to an online sale only focus.
